The village of Burley in the New Forest just sums up everything I adore about Britain. It’s always top of my list of places to visit for a forest stroll, a warming roast dinner in the winter or a nose around their unique little shops. This quaint village, nestled amongst forest and woodland (to such an extent that horses and ponies roam freely along its streets!), has so much to offer; from its gorgeous fudge shop and deli – selling delicious local foods – to its tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. There are also several gift shops which have embraced the village’s notable history of witchcraft, and many trinkets and treats can be bought here, along with more traditional fare. Finally, no visit to Burley would be complete without a visit to the New Forest Cider Farm, where you can buy (and try!) traditionally brewed cider straight from the barrel.
